Another rare ship's badge (crest) from the HMAS Warramunga (I), a Royal Australian Navy Tribal Class destroyer (1942 - 1959). The badge is a hand painted resin cast fashioned after the 1955 design attributed to Commander Ian K. Purvis and is mounted on a thick piece of varnished maranti. Vintage teak and brass (or bronze) ship's wheel with 8 spokes and a diameter of 72 cm (28.3"). The central hub may only be decorative but would suit a round shaft with a maximum diameter of 19 mm (3/4").
